"No, I am tellin' you, I've got two good eyes. I know what I saw, and it's a body out here in my yard," she says into the blocky cordless phone in one hand, her voice growing sharper with every word. "It's about time you took this serious, Nancy, because — "
She pauses, and smiles when she sees Bill.
"You know what, the sheriff himself is here. Thank you. No, I said thank you, I'm goin' now."
She hangs up, and opens the storm door.
"Sheriff, it's a good thing you're here. Nancy was all set to send out that Rudy Zbornsak, and I said he just wouldn't do."
